Tagged – Soft,Melodious and Soulful songs..

Destination Infinity has tagged me to list ten songs from two languages, those songs which are slow ,melodious and soulful.Being a music buff,I cannot waste a moment before I could recollect all those lovely songs. Here are a few songs, there are many many more..I hope you would listen to a few and do tell me how you felt listening to a song, from a language alien to you..I can’t say which among the below is more dear to me,every song is most loved for its own beauty..There are many more and I have lot to rant about each song, but for the sake of not boring you to death,I am just listing down the songs..Thanks for the tag  Destinationinfinity, you made my day 🙂

Malayalam songs..

Hindi songs..

Sorry if I ended up listing not-so-slow songs…Good day to all

I pass this tag to Solilo,Kanagu,Indyeah,Manju,Vimmuu,Pixie,Dhrien,Mandira,Dev,Reema,Vikas Gupta,Usha,IHM,Chirag,Amit,Biju,Charakan, @lankrita and Rush.me..There is no pressure, but it would be great if you do the tag,as we all would have a great time listening to fine songs from beautiful languages in India..I request you to do it,but I am not forcing as not many of you will be comfortable with making your serious blogs musical 🙂 Select two languages-preferably your mother tongue and hindi..

  1. Cant comment on the malyalee songs as never heard them

Since I am in my office, I am not able to listen to them (I’ll listen in the evening), but being in South, I already know that there are lot of exceptional slow songs in malayalam. Till yesterday I was wondering why I didn’t have a Malayalee blogger friend!! Never realized you were one. So, thanks again.

  13. Oops..sorry..I had no idea that there are Malayali Muslims!!

    ————————-

🙂 Natives of Kerala are called Malayalis, bcoz they speak Malayalam. Most people in Kerala are Hindu, Christian, and Muslim. Most members of the ancient Jewish community in Kerala emigrated to Israel. Almost 55% of Malayalis are Hindus, 23% are Christians and about 20% Muslims.

The major pilgrimage centre for Hindus are located in Guruvayur, Sabarimala, Chottanikara. Christians have numerous churches across the state; some significant churches are located Kunnamkulam, Attingal, Alappuzha, etc. There are mosques are across the state; one famous mosque is located at Ponnani. Most Jews in Kerala live in the city of Kochi where they have a synagogue.

Unlike some places in India, these religious communities have lived together in peace, except for a few rare incidents.

    Proud Malayali ;-)..lol… -Nimmy

  14. Heard the songs. Among the malayalam songs my favorites are – 3. Deenadhayalo Rama (Excellent voice and modulation) 6. Thattam Piddichu Velikkalle (For the first time i am listening to a song without music at all!) 9. Anuragini Idhayin (Both the music and the vocal was good in this one) in that order.

And among the hindi songs that I had not heard before (about 5 of them), i liked the following three – 6. Awarapan Banjarapan (I am not following many of the recent gems like this! WOW) 7. Yeh Rhim Jhim Ke Geet (Beautiful duet) 8. Allah ke bande hasde (Another song with very minimal music – This one was even better!)

Thanks for the recommendations! After all, what is an Ipod and a good speaker system for, without good songs??

    Destination Infinity
(The last malayalam song shows error and so does the third hindi song)

Nimmy, Destination Infinity tagged me too 🙂

You have listed so many nice songs. I haven’t heard many of the Malayalam ones. Piyu Bole is a favorite.

@Reema: Nimmy is right. In Kerala you will find all religions co-existing without much problem. Most Malayalees celebrate all festivals like Onam, Christmas and Eid. Most Malayali Hindus turned non-veg because of Christian influence too like Goans.

    ————————-

🙂 I didn’t notice DI tagging you..Looking forward for your post -Nimmy

  18. Believe me, this is going to be the toughest tage ever for me! But I am excited though! Thanks for tagging me!

  20. Nimmy,

You got 2 out of 3. Good. Anuragini is not my favourite but Neer mizhi is. Also liked that film Vachanam very much

  22. Done with the hindi version !!! loved doing it

  23. Thanks Nimmy. You have already listed some of my favourite songs!! I’ll try to put in some of the others and do this tag. I hope I can put in Tamil, Hindi and English too together with Malayalam. It’ll be a sin to avoid a song because of the language

  24. Thank you for tagging me.

This new theme look nice! Solilo abandoned it and you adopted it! 🙂

IHM too had tagged me today (and you too)!

BTW, Nimmi I am running short of time; How much time do i have?! I am really worried! And how can I pass it to people?! I know so few people! IHMs tag rule is that it should be passed to 25 people!

Above all, I don’t have great taste in music! I am not an enthusiastic music lover; just listen to some Hindi songs without much care or thought! Jab koi baat bigad jaaye is my favourite!

Sorry, my net connection is rather slow so I didn’t see the videos here!

  27. Hello, First time here via Destination Infinity. Wanted to hear malayalam songs. Now I am slowly becoming familiar with them (Asianet prog. Star singer). Nice songs. I liked:

Junile…, Chandrotsavam…Deenadayalu (best)…, Thattam pidichchu…Nice collection. Though I am hearing these for the first time. Just familiar with ‘His highness Abdullah’, ‘Chemmeen’ and one or two famous songs, until now!

I love Rim jhim ke geet saawan .., Kaislash Kher’s song…Tere bin (hearing for the first time)… And I have added ‘piya bole’ in my musical tag(!), love all ‘bombay’ songs….

Good to know so many bloggers are here, to do this tag. This idea of the ‘musical tag’ is very good, thanks to Destination Infinity!

    ——————————————–

Welcome Sandhya..I am glad you liked my choices..and yes,a ton thanks to DI ,he created the tag and everybody is enjoying the tag… Do come again 🙂 – Nimmy
