Woman diplomat accused of passing secrets to Pakistan, arrested
NEW DELHI: A senior Indian woman diplomat of the level of second secretary in the Indian High Commission in Islamabad, has been arrested for passing on Indian state secrets to Pakistan intelligence agencies for two years.
53-year-old IFS Group B officer Madhuri Gupta was working in the press wing of the Indian High Commission, according to intelligence sources. It is unlikely that she was a lone spy operating on her own. But there is so far no confirmation of any others arrested or interrogated. According to sources, simultaneously, the station head of Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) in Islamabad R K Sharma has also come under the scanner, according to sources.[….]
Yeah,it bothers me that country’s security issues are at stake..Still,honestly speaking,I am glad that this lady is named Madhuri Gupta and not some Haseena Ali or Aysha Musthafa

Tracing the employment pattern of Muslims, the records say that just three percent of IAS officers, four percent of IPS officers and meager 1.8 percent of Indian Foreign Service (IFS) officers are from the community.
It goes on to say that just 2.2 percent of all bank employees, including of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), are Muslims.
They account for less than seven percent of public service employees, only five percent of railways workers, around four percent of banking employees and there are only 29,000 Muslims in India’s 1.3 million-strong military
Drawing a comparison with Hindus, the records say that while 63.6 percent of Muslims live in non-permanent houses, 55.2 percent Hindus live in similar conditions. ‘Thirty percent of Muslims have access to electricity while 43.2 percent of Hindus have access to electricity.
(Similarly) 19.4 percent of Muslims have access to piped water against 25.3 percent Hindus,’ the records say.
The literacy rate of India is at 65 percent, for Muslims it is 59 percent. It is not as low compared to the employment & basic amenities.
You should also find out the number of Muslims serving in India’s armed forces, the regional reserve units and the police force throughout India… proportional representation wise there are more Indian Parsees and Indian Jews and Indian Christians and the Sikhs serving in the armed forces but a tiny little percentage of Indian Muslims, there is open discrimination (whether Congress rules or BJP rules).
Simply because a Sikh assassinated the Prime Minister of India, the Govt. has not stopped or reduced the recruitment of Sikhs and in the same way simply because a RSS man killed Gandhiji, it does not mean that RSS sympathizers are not in the Indian army and police.
According to reports, about 38 known cases of Indian national spying for other countries had been reported, out of this not more than 4 involve Indian Muslims. This kind of minority appeasement as claimed by the sanghis.

yes i tweeted on similar lines….its wrong to suspect only Muslims to be affiliated with Pakistan like many people do. Money knows no religion or caste. Now the latest news is that “Madhuri Gupta, the 53-year-old second secretary arrested on charges of spying for Pakistan, may have embraced Islam about six years ago, a media report has claimed.”

You can see people,mainly so-called feminists blabbering about honour killing done my muslims..They are very much bothered about such happenings in Afghanistan and deep somewhere inSaudi Arabia..Good,I agree..But they are ;east bothered about the same stuff happening under their nose,in their own country..Ever heard about caste killings by khaps in India.I am not talking about ‘that used to happen’ but about something that is happening.

I reffered to the incidents to make my point that if honour killing is done by a hindu or christian,it is talibanism,and if it is done by a muslims,it is barbarism of Islam..How fair is that?

It reminds me of an old saying that A NEW CONVERT IS MORE FANATIC. Madhuri was first lured to the new fold called Islam and the rest was a natural consequence. Throughout the Holy Quran one is ordained to view all that is non-islamic to be ‘unfriendly and hostile’ even if it were one’s own parents, not to speak of one’s motherland. Thus, Madhuri Gupta’s spying is not at all surprising.

I think this entire concept of espionage and counter espionage, is a evilish by-product of foreign policy politics (with a history as old as the first human kingdoms).
When the entire working is based of legitimization of deceit, the difference between what is genuine and what is not, is fuzzy and can be manipulated/projected according to a person necessity or prejudice.
It is easy to ask some-one to cosy-up to the enemy, and then later chose/not-chose to defend the person.
We as humans work on certain pre-judiced stereotypes and will not let anything shake that.
